The number of repetitions has to do with the number of repetitions of a repeating field. It has no impact on the number of times the same value may exist in a given field.
I am not sure exactly what you are describing when you say:
When I place the calculated field in the report the values repeat themselves over and over again
Can you describe that in more detail or post a screen shot of it?
Notice (in the sample image) how the selected checkbox values repeat in the report.
I don't see the values repeating. I see what looks like the results of a calculation field that has substituted a comma for the returns of the original field formatted with check boxes.
Can you post that calculation and explain what result you want from it?
Please notice the repeated values (I have highlighted with paired colors):
The calculation field is:
"El (la) estudiante indica que realiza la(s) siguiente(s) actividad(es) cuando tiene problemas en sus clases:" & " " &TextStyleAdd((Substitute(FORME1::A6 ; ¶ ; ", " ));Bold)
It appears that your data exists in more than one copy inside the same field. Make a copy of this field. Size it quite large and many rows of text tall. Leave it formatted as an edit box. Now examine the contents of this field to see if you find the same text entered more than once in this field...
OK. When I make the field very long it does not repeat but when I change to the width and height that I need it repeats.
What can I do to control this behaviour (as I need it to be 6 x 1 inch?
Changing the dimensions of the field does not change the data stored in that field. You have duplicated data in this field.
You need to:
a) remove the duplicated data
b) figure out how this happened and take steps to prevent it in the future.
I created a new record and it does not do it (it behaves well) I will keep a log of this on case it occurs again.Thank you for following up.
It's quite possible that one record has duplicated data while a newly created one does not....
