      Classrooms, times and classes..would like to show rooms in separated portals..help??

      Post

      Hi and thanks for reading...

      Small school....6 "classrooms".

      I built a database to keep track of everything and it is great.

      Now I would like to try to show a portal for each room.

      Portal 1 = Classroom 1

      Portal 2 = Classroom 2

      etc...

      I would like to separate the "classes" into 6 portals showing only one room each.

      I hope this makes sense to someone who has an idea how to solve this.

      I keep trying, but I cannot seem to get it.

      Self-join, but how?

      Thanks all and I love this forum. You guys are really great for all of your help and information. I have really learned a lot here.

          I'd consider creating an additional table with 1 record = 1 classroom

          In a list type layout, each room record would occupy a separate row of the layout and you can place a portal on your layout that will appear once on each row of your layout.

          In your relationship graph, you'd create a relationship something like:

          Classrooms :: RoomID = Details :: RoomID

          Where "Details" refers to the table holding the data you want to show in each of your portals.

          Base your Layout and Classrooms and refer your portal to Details and you've got it.
