      code locked file

      Post

I tried to downgrade my Mac to 10.3 from 10.5 (lost too much functionality in the "upgrade"). A file that I used for codes had been stored without being locked (I thought), but now I can't get it open. I've tried many passwords that I typically use, but no use. Unfortunately, that file is where I store all my passwords. Any thoughts? I'm using FMP 7.0.

          Thank you for your post.

FileMaker, Inc. will not unlock any file except under rare circumstances (court order, Homeland Security, etc.).

Was it created with FMP6 ?

If so, you can try to open it with:

            1) Account: Admin PWD: ( blank )
            2) Account: Admin PWD: Admin
            3) the same of 1) and 2) but lowercase.

Well, after hacking away (100 times or so), I finally discovered the correct combination. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to unlock the file, but at least I got the information. Thanks for the "admin" suggestion.
