Probably a stupid newbie question - but we have a database which has been thrown together over time and several of the fields are essentially the same Yes or No ident (eg. SF Chef, San Francisco Chef, Chef in San Francisco) which is making the operation very clunky. Is there any simple way to combine these matching fields into one master field for each potentially duplicate set?
I would change the field to a drop-down list. This way they would select the item from a list, for more consistence. I would limit the user adding items to the drop down list. You might put some kind of validation on that field, so the next time its view the user would have to update the item.
