In the message part you would enter along these lines
"Dear " & customers::name & "¶¶The rest of your email message with other fields data such as" & Table1::Field1 & "¶¶Regards¶¶Your Sig"
Note how the field names are placed in between the body of the message using " & table::Field & "
¶ is for line breaks
Hope that helps.
OK I tried that. Here is what I entered into the Message portion.
"This email is intended for Workers::First & Workers::Last, ¶¶If you are not the intended.....blah blah"
The table is called Workers and the field I want to insert is First etc.
Here is what I received via email...
This email is intended for Workers::First & Workers::Last,
If you are not the intended....
I'm obviously missing something. Help????
frustrated in Phoenix
You need to separate plain text from field names, as shown below, you would also want a space or comma between the first & last
I have put a comma in as an example
"This email is intended for" & Workers::First & ", " & Workers::Last &", ¶¶If you are not the intended.....blah blah"
YEAH! You are brilliant. I knew it was something small. Thanks so much for "seeing the obvious."
Because this method is plain text it removed all my formatting.
Do you know a way to include the letter with all the formatting I designed?
Thanks again for helping me out.
Im afraid not, I dont actually use native email functions in Filemaker, I use Dacons Mail.It plugin
