You should be able to setup a conditional format that species a contrasting fill color to highlight the field when the condition is met.
Conditional formatting only takes the value of the object being formatted into consideration, so it doesn't work for this. Basically:
Cell A = date
Cell B = value
I need Cell A to "look" at Cell B, and if a value exists, then Cell A is highlighted.
You can refer to the value of any field or variable to which the layout's current record has access in your conditional format expression.
You are not limited to the value of the field being formatted. Try using the "Formula is" option instead of "value is" when setting up the conditional format.
