Conditional Formatting and Merge Fields

How can I use conditional formatting with a merge field?  In other words in an address line I may or may not have an entry in the "Suite" field.  If there is an entry in that field, I want a comma and a space to appear before the suite # is merged in.  I can do this easily in Access so I can't believe it's not possible in FileMaker Pro.  If <<Suite>> is not null, ", "  That's how you do it in Access, more or less.
