      Conditional value list within a portal

      Post

           Hey,

           Would anyone please be able to assist me in setting up a conditonal value list within a portal.

           I basically have a SUPPLIERS table and a LOCATIONS table.  This is a many to many relationship so I have a join table called SUPPLIERS/LOCATIONS.

           On a SUPPLIERS layout I have a portal showing each suppliers different locations.  I need a dropdown list first for choosing the LOCATION state, which then using a conditional value list will list the LOCATIONS towns in the next portal field.

           How can I do this?   I really appreciate any help!smiley

               Suppliers----<Suppliers_Locations>-------Locations (It's really not a good idea to use a math operator such as / in a field or table occurrence name.)

               Is this a portal to the join table? (Suppliers_Locations).

               Do you have a table of towns linked to locations?

               Locations-----<Towns

               Locations::__pkLocationID = Towns::_fkLocationID

               If so, you can define your value list to list values from Towns, Include only related values, starting from Suppliers_Locations.
