confused by quick find results

confused by quick find results

When I use quick find to search (for example) for a record with a field value of CC006, I also get results for a record with CC067 in one of its fields.  As far as I can tell, the record doesn't have any fields that contain CC006, so I'm thinking quick find is doing something "clever" with the search terms, ignoring the zeroes or something.

Does anybody know what kind of logic quick-find applies to search terms and if there is a way to have it match the search terms exactly as they are entered?

Thanks in advance.
