Title

Connecting to FileMaker Pro using ODBC Driver

Post

Hi all,

I am trying to connect to an existing FileMaker Pro database using the supplied ODBC drivers. My application is written in C# using Visual Studio 2005. I can successfully create the 'User DNS' in windows (Vista) for the correct database. In Visual Studio I can also create a data connection inside the Server Explorer for this ODBC DNS. All good so far :).

However, when I try to use this connection in code it errors...

"ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Drive Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified."

I have tried 2 different connection strings, both resulting in the same error...

Dsn=FMPMusicLibrary;uid=admin;sdsn=Music%20Library;hst=127.0.0.1;prt=2399;

and

Dsn=FMPMusicLibrary;uid=admin;sdsn=Music%20Library;

So, has anyone got any examples/experience of writing a 3rd party application that uses ODBC drivers to connect to FileMaker Pro databases?

Many thanks.
