The above post by davidanders has a good set of links. In short, you will need to set up an ODBC System DSN on your Mac with the following:
1. The Open Source Databases driver from Actual Technologies
2. The IP address and port of the MySQL server
3. The username and password to log into the MySQL server
The links were very helpful. They eventually led me to the ODBC drivers from Actual.
