Constrain found set to last 5 records
Is there a way to constrain a found set to show only the 5 most recent records?
If there is a field with a creation date or an auto-entered serial number field, yes.
Sort [Restore; no dialog] ---> sort by date or serial in descending order so "last five" will be "first five" in found set
If [ Get ( FoundCount) > 5 //confirm that there are records to omit ]
Go to Record/Request/Page [6 ; no dialog]
Omit Multiple Records [ Get ( FoundCount ) ]
Phil, can this same script be applied to records in a portal?
But you can limit your portal to just 5 portal rows and specify the same kind of sort order.
Ok thanks. Just following on from this, is it possible to select (maybe via a drop down menu) how many most recent records you want to display in the found set? I noticed the method/script you described above is fixed at 5 records so just wondering if you could select say the last 10 or 15 etc records?
The "6" in my example can be replaced with a reference to a global field or a variable.
