    Container Data in Table View

      Title

      Container Data in Table View

      Post

Want a button to be in every record of a certain field

so that it can be clicked on to execute a program that

      uses that particular record.

Have a field defined as a container.  Have inserted

a button in Layout Mode but it doesn't appear in Table

View.  However it does appear in List or Form View

and it calls a program when clicked.

Am using Filemaker Pro 9 advanced.  Thanks for your help.

Meaning in a Layout (MainLayout) You want an invisible button over LastName field that would not allow entry into Lastname (because it would be on top) but would trip a script to do "SOMETHING"

A container field will hold many things (images, text, files and others)

It can hold an image, but not the script attached to that image, As Far As I Know.

I am at a loss, the questions you ask are not enough for me to guess as to a solution.

            Dear davidanders:

I will phrase it another way.  A button can have a script associated

with it.  Can a button be inserted into a field in Layout mode so that it

appears in every record of that field in Table View, and can the button
be operated to call the script ?  I think the answer is no, but I just want

to know for sure.  Using Filemaker Pro 9 advanced.  Thanks for your help.

Buttons in the body part will not work in Table view.

                Dear davidanders:

Thanks much for your reply.  I will have to call

my function from a button in the header.  I appreciate

                 your help.

                     Sincerely, CountryBoy1
