Here is how it looks in browse. Terrible!
Is the "delineate" check box selected in Layout Setup?
What options on the inspector's data tab did you specify for this container field?
How did you insert the PDF's into the container field?
Yes "Delineate fields on current record view only" is checked
I tried different Cropping styles
Tried Images and Interactive option
FYI - The container fields are in a Popup window.
Yes but what options where selected when you did your screen capture?
Have you tried clearing the "delineate" check box?
Am I correct that you only want to see the file names here, not the contents of the PDF?
If so, I'd be inclined not to put the container field on this layout at all but to use a Calculation field that uses GetContainerAttribute to extract and show the file name. Then you can show handle the file name as text, not something that is part of how the container field displays its contents.
- Screen capture was in Browse Mode with the popover up on the screen.
- I unchecked "Delineate" - no change.
I guess what I want......is what I had before upgrading to 13.....and that is having the PDF icon floating with the text above the icon.
It worked in FMPro Advanced 11. Looked great.
An icon representing what was in the container..and the text attached below.
Screen capture was in Browse Mode with the popover up on the screen.
Yes, but what Inspector|Data options were selected at the time?
I took a layout with container field, that was optimized for images. Specified a Black Fill Color and a White text color on the inspector's appearance tab. I then used Insert File To insert a PDF into the field.
The uploaded image shows the results that I got.
Here is what I got. BETTER!!!!
Text is still on the side. I can't figure out how to control it.
No one is even mentioning text control on the forum here.
That's because this is not a text field.
What OS are you using?
Try making the fields taller. I can't get the file name to appear to the right of the file icon until I reduce the height of the container field by a lot Also, something that's probably new to you is that may be "padding" specified in the Advanced Graphic section of the appearance tab for your field that you can change to zero in order to get a smaller field but still have the file name below the icon. If there is, change the padding to zero for the upper and lower padding amounts.
I make it taller..the icon just gets bigger.
Padding is 0,0,0,0
Line spacing 1
Alignment - tried them all. - In Appearance and Data
It may be a mac vs. windows difference. To be sure, try making the container field a lot taller say double or triple the height of the field's current height.
Yes..it's the height!!!!
It needs to be at least .65" in height for the text to move to the bottom!!
