      Controlling reports by date

      Post

I've developed a music publishing program on FMP 10.  I'm now working on the royalties and am having some real problems.  Royalties are paid simi annually, I fill out the form, it divides the monies between the writers and then I print the royalties.  However, if, for example, I do royalties from 1/1/2010 thru 6/30/2010 then at the end of the year I do royalties from 7/1/2010 thru 12/31/2010 it puts the royalties from 1/1/2010 thru 6/30/2010 and the royalties from 7/1/2010 together instead of separating them.  (I hope you understood that.)  Can you tell me how to do a script that will print by whatever date I enter instead of them all listing together?

      Thank you.

Hard to suggest much without knowing more about your database design.

If each record is dated, performing a find that specifies a date range can limit your records to just those that are dated within that date range. Such a "date range" find can be performed manually or in a script.
