      Copy filemaker filed to ms SQL filed

      Hi ,

      I have 2 tables in file maker  1= file maker table  2= MSSQL table

      I want to add filed ( surname + password) in filmmaker table and when its added I want to copy the content to the MSSQL table

      can we do this

      its kind of sync between 2 tables

          If you have FileMaker 9 or 10, yes.  FileMaker doesn't natively do a "Sync".  You can simulate a sync, if you are careful about and understand how it works.

           

          If you are just pushing data to, let's say, a web server a simple import would work.

           

          One more thing, be very cautious about storing passwords in straight text fields.  It is not a secure way to handle passwords.  It's better if you are encrypting the data, but you still need to have a good understanding of what is going on.  If you have that, then great...just stay away from storing passwords in plain text fields.
