    Counting data in a database

      Counting data in a database

I have a database with 1,100 or so records each with 230 or so fields. Not all the fields are populated for each record. I would like to know how many fields contain data. If every field where populated the answer would be 253,000 (1,100 X 230). What is the best way to find out how much data I have?

230 fields per record seems like an unusually large number of fields per record.

You could add field 231 as a calculation field that uses the count function: Count ( field1, field2, field3... ) to count the number of fields in the record that have data.
