each line item should be in its own record. Then you can go to Table view to make it look like a table.
Table view or List view. Both layout options can be set up to do what you want. Each option has its own combination of advantages or disadvantages.

Each column is a database field
Each row is a record
A spreadsheet can (unless you define database like views) only display in a table view.
A database can display in data entry, list view, table view and printout view.
The key is that the spreadsheet displays what's entered in the order it is entered. (not always)
The database instead of being tied to the entered order, should have a unique EquipID number for each entry.
This allows more options in displaying the data.
