english version : hello,
I am a manager within an administration and one of my superiors would like purchase FileMaker Pro 13 but he wonder if this new version is compatible with the old?
He had one of the first version of FileMaker on one of those old Mac has already transposed to its new Mac and he want to ensure it can "translate" his data from the old to the new version that we will acquire. Can you confirm this possibility?
FileMaker 13 can convert some older versions of FileMaker (those with a file extension of .fp7) simply by opening the older version with the new version. Versions of FileMaker older than that may need to be first opened and converted by older versions of FileMaker--free trial versions of which may still be downloaded from FileMaker and used for such a conversion process.
