Title

damaged .fp7 database can't be recovered or opened

Post

I cannot get an older database file to open in Filemaker Pro Advanced 12, the.fp7 file is said to be damaged.

I cannot use the recover command in FPA12, the application crashes. So I thought I would try a trial of 14. It says it cannot recover the file because first needs to convert the file. But I cannot even try to open the file in 14 trial, the open dialog won't let me select the .fp7 file.

Suggestions?

I have a Filemaker Pro Advanced 8 installer, but it won't run on this Mac. I have a Filemaker Pro Advanced 9 installer too, but for some reason the serial number I stored in a text file with the installer is for Filemaker Pro 9 NOT advanced. So I don't have the 9 installer and the only downloads here are UPDATERS.

Feeling stuck.

Advice? Thank you!
