To convert a .fp7 file in to .fmp12, you simply launch FileMaker 12 or 13 and use Open from the File menu to open the .fp7 file. FileMaker Pro has a built in file conversion feature that will then produce a new copy of your file converted to the new file format.
Thanks for this. I usually do it this way but one of the files I'm dealing with is huge - 500Mb+ and apparently the best way to maintain integrity is by using the tool from the subscriber toolbox.
Running the usual way takes an absolute eternity and as hoping the tool would reduce the time taken

Standalone Converter is one of the tools you get as a Developer Subscriber, sorry was using a collective term for what is there
