I want this caluculation like this
If the contract was received today 10/6/2011
the due date would be 10/12/2011
(didn't count the weekend 10/8 and 10/9)
Hmmm, that does a nice job of producing a list of week days, but then you'd still need to adjust for holdays--which don't follow predictable patterns and thus can't easily be computed.
We have to compute a "3 business days" waiting period when certain regulated alloys are sold to us by a customer. We resolved the issue by setting up a calendar table where each day of the month was flagged as "open" or "closed". Days when we are always closed are flagged as "closed" via a calculation field and a calendar format with a radio button field in each day's portal is used to document Holidays by setting their status to "closed" for just that one date.
Then a relationship is used that only matches to "open" date records to compute the date three business days in the future. This date is printed on the customer's weight tag so they know when to come in for their cash.
So if I didn't want to work the holidays in I could use the previous script mentioned?
I wouldn't use the script, but rather the custom function mentioned by comment when he provided a link to it.
