I'd use two global date fields for date one and date two. Then a script can enter find mode and use the two dates to construct the date range criteria.
So how would i go about doing that?
Define two global date fields, gDate1 and gDate2. Place them on your layout with the pop up calendar format.
Write a script:
Enter Find Mode  //clear the pause check box
Set Field [YourTable::YourdateField ; Yourtable::gDate1 & "..." & Yourtable::gDate2]
Set Error Capture [on]
This script will not work as written unless you specify global storage for gDate1 and gDate2 in field options.
so if i have a gdate1 gdate2 as global will this also work on any layout with date as long as i put in on the layout
Because they have global storage, you can put gDate1 and gDate2 on any layout where you want to enable the user to enter a pair of dates. The fields do not have to be on any specific layout in order for the script to run, however.
