Delete orphaned records
What is the easiest way to find orphaned records and delete them?
I would think the easiest way is to go to the table/layout the orphaned records are on, switch to table view. At the column header denoting the field that will now be blank or contain an error message, right click, sort ascending (or descending) and all the orphans should appear at the top.
Even better would be if some of the experts can weigh in with ways to prevent orphans in the first place, besides the obvious but not always best method of "allow deletion of records via this relationship".
You can add the primary key field from the parent table to your layout or table view and perform a find with * in that one field, then select show omitted only to see the records that don't have a related parent record.
