Check in External Data Sources to see if you have added the file as a data source.
Yes I have. But what is interesting, is I get this window even when I click on the file outside of the program. When I open it from the mac folder it resides in.
Im not very familiar with FM on a mac, the file references thing came to mind so I thought it was worth a try...
Do you get this dialog before or after Filemaker Launches?
I believe you are seeing it after it launches. That's filemaker attempting to open another file and can't find it. You have something in your file that references your file by the original filename. As already suggested, if you open Manage External Datasources and find a entry that refers to your file by name, this is most likely the cause. You can either edit this entry to use the new file name or you can track down the script or other part of your system that created this source in the first place and modify it so that it no longer does. (This is a redundant file reference since this is the name of the current file, but you'll have to edit a perform script step or other such item that takes the "external file" option, but then specifies the current file.)
A copy of Filemaker Advanced can make such a search for data source references much easier if you have a copy or can get someone who owns one to make a database design report of your file.
Yes, external resources was the problem. You and SW were right. The problem was that I needed to remove the external resource problem from both files.
Thank you, both of you.
