Difference in menu behavior  FMP 11 Adv / FMP 12 Adv Mac

     In FMP 11, I was able to do a little "conditional trick" where Help pulldown menu entries would only show up if certain conditions were met.  It has to do with whether a user has an optional add-on product installed into the main program or not.

     The "trick" involved putting the following code into the "Item Name" line in the menu definition:

If(EXAMPLE::XACT="t";"Action";"")

     In other words if the XACT field in the EXAMPLE table is set to "t", then the word "Action" appears in the Help pulldown menu slot; otherwise an empty string is specified.

     In FMP 11, when the empty string was specified, then no item for that slot showed up in the menu.  This was perfect.

     However, in FMP12 the behavior is more literal:  when the empty string is specified, it shows a "blank" menu slot.  See attached screenshot.  I'm aiming to somehow get back to the FMP11 behavior (no menu item showing) but using FMP12.  Any ideas ?
