Sorry, I think I can help you here but I don't understand exactly what you are asking.
I mean if you just need to merge fields you can do that within a calculation, even a conditional trigger if needed upon grabbing the data.
in the calculalation field you would need to put the fields together something like this...
Table1::Field1 & Table1::Field2 & Table1::Field3
The & symbol will connect the fields for you, if the field contains any spaces or such you will need to include it in a "" container.
So if you wanted to display the result like this:
The calculation will be like this:
table1::field1 & "-" & table1::field2 & "-" & table1::field3
To look like this:
field1 - field2 - field3
You do something like this:
table1::field1 " " & "-" & " " table1::field1 " " & "-" & " " table1::field1
I believe Mariam Abdulqader wants to display the results of a calculation that divides one value with another to produce a ratio. If there weren't ODBC to MYSQL involved, I'd just describe adding a calculation field to the table that computes this ratio. Since I haven't worked with this type of set up, I don't know if that is possible here. You may need to define a related FileMaker table that links to this table in a one to one relationship and then you can define the calculation field here and add it to your portal row.
Ahhh, I see. yeah sorry, not much I could help you with there, but I am off to research now...

Thank you PhilModJunk, that is what I meant. Sorry about the confusion. "row1 | f1 | f2 | f1/f2row2 | f1 | f2 | f1/f2" should have been on separate lines like:
row1 | f1 | f2 | f1/f2
row2 | f1 | f2 | f1/f2
I haven't worked with the FileMaker to ODBC MySQL setup for very long. I'm still trying to find the best way to deal with issues like the one described. I was hoping to avoid adding a related FileMaker table but that seems to be my best option. Thank you both for your suggestions, I'll try them out!
