I am new to filmmaker pro and am not sure how "export" a container field without saving it but opening it using adobe.  In other words, is there a way to double-click on a container field (specified as interactive content) to show the pdf using Adobe Reader?

P.S.  I am using Filemaker Pro 13 and running it on a mac with mavericks but will have clients also running the solution on windows.

               There is not.

               Your options are to:

Use Export Field Contents to export a copy--the copy can be exported to temporary items so that the exported copy does not remain after you close FileMaker.

Use Insert File instead of Insert PDF--with "store a reference" specified to insert the file into a non-interactive copy of your field and without specifying external storage. Then you can double click to open the file.
