There is a function called Get ( FoundCount ) which will give you the number of records in your found set, you can use this in a calculation field or have a look at this discussion and display the value in a web viewer.
Other functions you can use in conjunction with this are Get ( RecordNumber ) and Get ( TotalRecordCount )
I hope this helps
Odd, the Get (TotalRecordCount) formula works fine but the Get (FoundCount) does not. It is blank when I have done no finds (makes sense), but when I do a simple find it stays blank even though I can see in the status toolbar that records are found and there is accurate count. I have stored it globally in the same table as the records themselves. What else might I be doing wrong?
Make sure you are running the get function after the find has been performed.
May seem obvious, but sometimes the little things cause the biggest problems.
Try setting it as an Unstored Calculation, when specifying the calculation click on 'Options' and then tick the option 'Do not store calculated results -- recalculate when needed' and see if that helps.
That did it, thanks!
I've been trying to find a way to set a found count on a search page in a runtime solution for a couple days.
Finally found this thread -- and it works perfectly!
