Title

Documentation to explain symbols used in field entries on layouts

Post

Dear All,

I have inherited a database and I am trying to get my head around the system. So far I have found that the available documentation is excellent. However I must have missed something somewhere along the line as I can find nothing to explain the meaning of the various symbols which appear when fields that have been added to the layouts.

So for example I see a fields prefixed with :: e.g. ::myvalue

I also see to the left of the fields symbols - most commonly a circle with a tail which (I assume is a search symbol) but what does this demote as far as the field is concerned.

I also see symbols such as a blue and red diamond or a red star or an empty rectangle.

I have hunted high and low and cannot see where these symbols are documented.

Any advice on where to look  or an explanation would be very gratefully received.
