conditional formatting of a text field may work with another calculation:
Length ( Self )
or even simply: 1
BTW:you can format directly that field while in Layout Mode or use an auto-enter calculation using the text formatting functions. Note that only the last way really modifies the data entries.
Unfortunately, I still could not get it to work.
I don't have a lot of experience with the functions so I was unable to set it up that way.
Say me the name of that field and which type of formatting you need to give to the email address.
Here is the info...
Field Name: E-mail 1 Address
Size: 12 Point
Thanks again for your help.
Go into the option of auto-enter a calculation for the field "Email 1 Address" and put there this calc:
TextColor ( TextStyleAdd ( TextSize ( TextFont ( Email 1 Address ; "Verdana" ) ; 12 ) ; Bold ) ; RGB ( 51 ; 102 ; 102 ) )
Note: modify a little the name of your field ( no minus sign ) because so FileMaker will work better.
Thank you again Daniele.
Your calculation works great.
The only problem I now have is some of the text I'm "dropping" into the email field is underlined. The calculation you gave me takes care of everything except it doesn't remove the underlining.
Is there something I can add to the calculation to remove underlining?
Thank you very much.
Try this one:
TextColor ( TextStyleAdd ( TextSize ( TextFont ( TextFormatRemove ( Email 1 Address ) ; "Verdana" ) ; 12 ) ; Bold ) ; RGB ( 51 ; 102 ; 102 ) )
