drag and drop is the same as using Insert file with the "store a reference" option left unchecked.
What optimizaton option did you select for this file on the inspector's data tab?
What do you get if you insert a PDF using insert file instead of drag and drop?
Which operating system do you have?
I tried both optimization options. No effect on drag-n'-drop.
Using the "Insert file..." method from the contextual menu displays the file as an icon and file name. Since I actualy seldom work with pdf originals, this method will probably work fine for me. Draggin'-n'-droppin' would be more convenient, but...
I'm using Mountain Lion.
On my windows box, I can drag and drop a PDF and it is treated like any other file inserted with the insert file option.
Phil, this was a FMP bug fix from earlier versions of MacOS and FMP to give "untitled".
You might try setting your default pdf viewer Adobe reader on MacOS, if you have Adobe loaded.
Preview is Apple's PDF licensed version and had file title bug versus FMP.
PS: I prefer Preview myself with Lion.
