Duplex Printing a Report with Variable-Length Records

      Post

I have a Filemaker 13 database from which I print reports. One of my reports is an Event Order. Each Event Order has various number of Menu Items (records) within the body. One Event may have only 5 Menu Items, so it prints easily on one page. Another Event may have 10+ items, so prints on 2 or 3 pages. If I print one Event Order at a time, it prints perfectly on my duplex printer, with the even pages on the backside of the odd pages. But if I attempt to print a group of Event Orders (for example, the next week’s worth), it doesn't print properly.

      Example: If I have

      Event-Order-1 (1 page)
      Event-Order-2 (2 pages)
      Event-Order-3 (3 pages)
      Event-Order-4 (1 page)

… then it currently prints like so:

      Sheet 1, Front : Event-Order-1, Page 1 (and only)
      Sheet 1, Back : Event-Order-2, Page 1 (of 2)
      Sheet 2, Front : Event-Order-2, Page 2 (of 2)
      Sheet 2, Back : Event-Order-3, Page 1 (of 3)
      Sheet 3, Front : Event-Order-3, Page 2 (of 3)
      Sheet 3, Back  : Event-Order-3, Page 3 (of 3)
      Sheet 4, Front : Event-Order-1, Page 1 (and only)
      Sheet 4, Back : BLANK

But I want to be able to achieve this:

      Sheet 1, Front : Event-Order-1, Page 1 (and only)
      Sheet 1, Back : BLANK
      Sheet 2, Front : Event-Order-2, Page 1 (of 2)
      Sheet 2, Back : Event-Order-2, Page 2 (of 2)
      Sheet 3, Front : Event-Order-3, Page 1 (of 3)
      Sheet 3, Back  : Event-Order-3, Page 2 (of 3)
      Sheet 4, Front : Event-Order-3, Page 3 (of 3)
      Sheet 4, Back : BLANK
      Sheet 5, Front : Event-Order-4, Page 1 (and only)
      Sheet 5, Back : BLANK

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
