      Duplicates - no first found

Sorry if this has been answered before. I am a bit new to this. I have transfered a database from Lotus Approach. It is of a CD Collection. Fields:   title, artist, cd name, track no, date acquired. Many actual songs are duplicated – compilations, best ofs etc. Need to find duplicates by title and artist but not find the first instance of each. In doing this I can produce a listing of all songs by artist I have but avoid duplicating the same song by the same artist. Lotus had an inbuilt find that did this. Must be an easy answer but I can’t fathom it out. Thanks

How are your tables set up?

You might want to use this table structure:

          CDs-----<CD_Songs>----Songs

Where Songs are listed only once in the songs table, but CD_Songs provides a "join table" to link Songs from the CDs table to a specific CD. This supports listing a single song in multiple CDs and multiple songs in a single CD without any duplication of song titles when you list them from the Songs table.
