Easy Export / Import via Scripts in a Hosted File

      Post

I'm running FMP11 on Windows machines and have an internet hosted file.

I want to export the client numbers of the found set of clent records and immedately import them into a different table of the same hosted solution.  Is there a way to accomlish this with scripts and without any user intervention?

Yes. Are users accessing the file from a web browser or a copy of FileMaker Pro?

If using a FileMaker Pro client, Import Records can be used to copy records from one table to another--even when tables are part of the same file.

If you are using a web browser, this script step is not compatible, but you can still move data from one table to another either one record at a time (if you establish a link between the two tables and copy over the key value), or one field at a time (if there is no relationship between the two tables that you can use.) Either way, a loop can be set up to loop through the records in your first table to move the data into new records in the second table.
