I need to select records from a file where a certain field is not empty. Maybe I'm missing the obvious, but I can't figure out how to do that.
In the selected field, do a Find for:
I should have been more specific. I need to do this in a Script. I've sorted the records by this field, and I need to omit the records that have no value in the field and display only those with a value in my layout.
Sorbsbuster's method also works in a script:
Enter Find Mode // clear the pause check boxSet Field [YourTable::Field ; "*"]Set Error Capture [on]Perform Find
OK. So how do I omit those records? Do I use FoundCount to Omit the number of records? or is there a way to omit the entire found set?
If you do that find (either manually or as part of a script) you will only be presented with the records that are not empty, so you don't have to omit any. You can go straight ahead and do with the records listed whatever it was you wanted to do with them.
