Entering Field names as records

Title

Entering Field names as records

Post

Hi,

I am attempting to analyse a large quantity of data (arent we all :) )

It is exported from the program that makes it as a CSV file which I can import easily enough into FMP.

The problem lies in that it has a variable quantity of fields and a variable quantity of records

The File that I am using to construct the pogramming on  is 2244 Records with 1677 fields at the moment.

I want to be able to discover data by interregating it by field and by record, independently

My instinct is that I need to extract the field names and put them in another table so I can use these field names to look up the records, is there an easy way to do this?

Its almost like a pivot table, do these exist in FMP?

Thanks

Hugh
