Being in find mode does not mean that a script is still running. Has a script entered find mode and paused?
If you are using FileMaker Advanced, you can set up a custom menu such that close window--both the menu option and the red x performs a script that closes the window and halts any paused script. The fact that the window is in find mode will not be an issue as that should be the only window in find mode. Closing it returns you to the previous window and it should not be in find mode anyway.
Hey Phil...Yes the script has entered find mode and paused.
So a script that has "halt script" specified as the last step will also halt the paused script.
So to Close the current window that is paused and in Find Mode and to halt the find mode script, would you write the following:
Close Window [Current Window]
Hey Phil...Well I got it....It was just too easy, I always overthink some of this.
Hey Phil you had mentioned the following:
"If you are using FileMaker Advanced, you can set up a custom menu such that close window--both the menu option and the red x performs a script that closes the window and halts any paused script."
I am using FM Pro 10 Advanced. I am interested in disabling the Red [X] on the upper right corner on every window.
See Pic attached
How would I do this? Are there some samples of this?
Thanks again. -J
My Known Bugs List database uses that method for closing windows though it's an artifact held over from FileMaker 11. As it's not needed with a modal window in FileMaker 12 in my system as I don't pause any scripts while in find mode.
You make a copy of the file menu and then modify the close window option to perform a script instead of the default action.
