      exporting filemaker pro files with container fields into ms access

      Post

           I have created a collector's catalog database that has pictures of the items in a container field.  I need to export it into ms access including the pictures in the container field since many people do not have filemaker but do have ms access.  How can this be done?  revtjchase@gmail.com

               What methods does access have for importing images?

               You can use a calculation field to extract the filename of the image file from the container field and make it one of the exported data fields. A looping script can then use Export Field Contents to put all your images into a folder with those same exact names. You may then be able to import or reference all of those images from MS Access using that exported filename.

               Here's the calcualtion that will extact filenames:

               This should work for all insertion and storage methods except Insert Object:
               Let ( [T = GetAsText ( GetValue ( YourTable::containerField ; ValueCount ( YourTable::containerField ) ) ) ;
                           L = Length ( T )];
                           Right ( T ; L - Position ( T ; "/" ; L ; -1 ) )
                   )
