      Post

Have a user with Pro 5 that gets the following error message when fdmail.fp5 tries to open:  The instruction at "0x7c310a19" reverenced memory at "0x00000000".  The memory could not be "read".  Then the options are OK to terminate or CANCEL to debug.  This same application is applied to 4 other machines with identical images and peripherals and work fine.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled the application with no success.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks

          Thank you for your post.

If it works on other machines but not this one, then we need to determine what is the difference.  You took care of the application FileMaker Pro, so that is one less factor.  So, it is either the database file or the system.

If the file is being shared, then you will need to determine what is the difference between the operating systems.  If the file is NOT being shared, try taking the file to another machine that is working, and see if you get the same problem.  If so, then the database file is probably corrupt.  Pull down the File menu and select "Recover", and recover the database file.  Open the recovered file and see if the problem persists.  If you don't have a problem, then you need to focus on the systems.

Please keep me posted with your progress.

Just to let you know that SP3 seemed to do the job.  The user reports no further problems after the Service Pack was installed.  Thanks much for your help.
