I've zoomed way in and even put the edge of another window directly underneath the circled text in your screen shot and it appears to align perfectly with the text in the other buttons. Can you point out to me what I'm missing here?
And is this a field or a button object? Is it a text field or a container field?
I ask this because you appear to be specifying text alignment options, yet your post's title refers to a container field--which doesn't appear to be what you are dealing with in this issue.
This is a container field and it's the dotted outline that is not to the very top, not sure why the picture i posted isn't showing it. I went ahead and uploaded a close picture which you can see that the outline is not lined correctly from the top even if I have 0 set for the top alignment. Also, please note that this container is transparent and is only used as Script Trigger.
Let me know what you think?
Finally, got it working by zooming all the way and saving it as a PNG file.
Could you please check on this for me, I got the Screenshot working and you should be seeing container outline not perfectly aligned to the top?
Usually when that happens to me I cut my losses and duplicate the button set-up beside it, hit the 'Up' arrow 6 times, and slide it to the side, then just change the button components....
I will give that a try, is there no other way to fix this problem from arrising in the future?
What version of FileMaker are you using? (In V12, I don't see the need to use container fields as you can get a gradient fill in a regular button object.)
Is the blue I see above the field's border part of the graphic image in the container field or is it from an object behind the button?
If you clicked this button while in layout mode, where would you see the selection handles?
I'm using the V11.
The blue at the top of the field's border is from the object behind the button which is just an image.
The orders container field is empty with transparent fill set which allows the menu image behind the container to show which is the Blue Gradient image.
Hope this helps.
Text Alignment I have the "Bring to Top selected" as well as Center for the Alignment.
Text alignment will have no effect on a container field.
On the data tab, you can specify alignment of objects within the container field to control vertical aligment.
On the position tab, you can select all your container fields and align the tops of them. You can also use the height box on the position tab to adjust the height to be exactly the same as the other fields or there's a button in the alignment section that wiill adjust the height of all selected obejcts to that of the tallest selected object.
But why use a container field at all here if it only contains the button label text? Why not just use a text field?
