You can run the DDR Database Design Report if you have advanced. There are also 3rd party tools that break down the design of a database
Using just the DDR, you can do a text search for the field's name repeatedly until the search brings you back to the first instance of the field thus found. This can tell you if anything will break if you remove the field from the table.
third party tools like BaseElements or Inspector will take the XML version of a DDR and analyze for such things and pull the data together so that you can see this without the repeated searches.
