You can't insert pictures into the body of email with filemaker's native capabilities. You can, however, send the picture as an email attachment.
There are email plug ins that offere enhanced capabilities. You might be able to insert a picture into your email using one of them.
What is the name of your picture?
and is it still on your desktop?
Can i insert a picture into a field and do it that way by any chance
Emails generated by Send Mail are plain text only. The only way to use send mail to deliver anything other than plain text to your email recipients is to attach a file to the email.
You can use save as PDF and attach the PDF.
You can export a field and then attach this new file.
These are the most common ways to do this without resorting to a plug in.
its called orientation 2010.jpg on desktop
If you still have "/picture.jpg" in your script variable, that is why it's not working.
your variable needs to be Get ( DesktopPath ) & "/orientation 2010.jpg"
There are 2 things wrong with your file path.
1. A FileMaker syntax path needs a prefix. Since you're using an "absolute" path, the proper way is to add a platform-specific prefix. For cross-platform use this can be calculated.
Case ( Abs ( Get (SystemPlatform)) = 1; "filemac:"; "filewin:" )
2. "/picture.jpg" should be just "picture.jpg", as Get (DesktopPath) begins and ends with "/"
Don't use ' (apostrophe) in a FileMaker syntax path. That's a Unix thing; to FileMaker it's just a text character.
It is always a good idea to look at your paths before using. You would have noticed "//" in #2 above. Set a script Variable to the path and view with Data Viewer during the script, or show it in a Custom Dialog.
