      File maker and Alpha software

      Post

I am currently running a database I developed with Alpha software for my PC with Vista. I would seriously like to switch to a mac platform but can't unless there was a way of converting my Alpha created database to File maker pro for Mac. Can anyone comment on the difficulty of this process?

          Thank you for your post.

I am not familiar with Alpha.  Does it have the ability to export data to a text format?  If so, FileMaker Pro imports data from comma-separated and tab-separated text files.  FileMaker Pro can also import Excel and DBF files.

Assuming Alpha is a relational database product, and records in one table can be linked to records in another table, make sure you are able to export the "key" field that links those tables together.

Does anyone else have any experience with Alpha software?
